Yang (Jeffrey) Fan Chiang
Computer Science Master's Student @ University of Maryland, College Park
I am a second-year master’s student at the Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland, working closely with Yizheng Chen and Tom Goldstein. My research interests mainly lie in AI safety and how to make AI reliable, trustworthy, and with good social impact. Currently, I’ve been focusing on AI Agents security and the alignment/evaluation of large-scale models (e.g., GenAI, LLMs).
I did my B.S. in Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 2024. During Bachelor’s degree, I was fortunate to work with Prof. Lun-Wei Ku at Acadamia Sinica, Prof. Chih-Chung Hsu and Prof. Hsun-Ping Hsieh at, NCKU.
📣 If you’re looking for guidance, mentorship, or simply a friendly conversation about your path in CS/ECE and AI, I’d be happy to connect. I aim to create a supportive space— and where anyone, regardless of background, can feel welcome. Google Form Link 📣

I love cooking in my free time—it feels a bit like research, where I try out ideas, learn from the results, and sometimes stumble on surprisingly tasty dishes.
