Jeffrey Yang Fan Chiang
Computer Science Ph.D. Student @ University of Massachusetts Amherst
I am a first-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at UMass Amherst , advised by Eugene Bagdasarian. I work on AI security and safety, with a focus on making AI agents and language models transparent, reliable, and aligned with human needs.
Previously, I completed my M.S. in Computer Science at UMD , where I am very lucky working with Tom Goldstein and Yizheng Chen, and all the amazing collaborators. I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from NCKU in 2024.
If you’re looking for guidance, mentorship, or simply a friendly conversation about your path in CS/ECE and AI, I’d be happy to connect. I aim to create a supportive space where anyone, regardless of background, can feel welcome. Google Form Link

I love cooking in my free time—it feels a bit like research, where I try out ideas, learn from the results, and sometimes stumble on surprisingly tasty dishes.
